These furry little creatures are sighted in captivity in one of the following ways:

As A Private Possession

Several wild animals have been reported to have been kept as pets in private homes. Several of these animals are wild and cannot survive indoors. While keeping them as a captive is an expensive process, many owners are not providing them humane conditions to live in, leading to a serious threat to the animal’s and their own safety.

In Circuses

Several animals are captured and traded off to circus shows that travel from city to city amusing people. The animals are transported in small cages and are often ill-treated to perform certain circus acts.

For Trading

Several animals have valuable possessions such as their hide, teeth, claws, and horns. Poachers and hunters often attack these vulnerable animals and trade them in the black market for money.

These animals deserve a much better standard of life and should not be forced to such inhumane conditions. While the government has laid down several laws to stop these activities, it is us who need to help their implementation at the ground level so that every animal can enjoy the lifestyle they deserve.

With an aware population, we can enforce strong regulations and their enforcement to help protect wild animals kept in captivity.

Canada is home to some of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries and national parks.
